The SDR-S2974 is ideal prototype for building a range of advanced research applications, including stand-alone LTE or 802.11 device simulation, development of media access control (MAC) algorithms, multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) systems, heterogeneous networks, LTE transmission, RF compression sampling, spectral remote sensing, cognitive radio, beamforming and direction finding.

The SDR-S2974 is a high-performance embedded SDR standalone device consisting of an on-board processor, FPGA, and RF front-end.  Like all USRP devices, this device is powered by the open-source, cross-platform UHD, which supports most applications and SDR development frameworks such as GNU Radio.
