SK9908X Series RF Analyzer

The SK9908 series RF analyzers are feature-rich, compact, and have moderate performance. The SK9908 series is expected to include four optional frequency ranges, covering low frequencies to 6, 10.8GHz, 18.6GHz, and 43.5GHz.

The basis of the SK9908 is a monitoring receiver, which provides 15MHz real-time bandwidth when working independently and can scan the entire coverage area. For narrowband digital signals, the original data (IQ data) can be recorded to a TF card. When using GNURadio software, the real-time bandwidth is 40MHz.

Built-in vector signal source, analog modulation can be performed, and digital signal creation can also be performed using GNURadio software.

Special optimization has been carried out in narrowband communication reconnaissance, and fast scanning and peak grabbing according to rules. The receiver of the instrument has common analog modulation and digital protocol demodulation capabilities, and a built-in speaker.

The combination of rich functions and extremely small size makes the SK9908 more suitable for field applications, especially field service, monitoring, construction, and maintenance activities that are often carried out on business trips. In most cases, a SK9908 can handle tasks that used to require large instruments.

The performance of the SK9908 is at a medium level, and if you master the skills, you can also handle tasks that require higher performance. Please read the User Manual for details.

  • Applications

The signal source can be used in all fields where traditional handheld receivers, spectrum analyzers, field strength analyzers, and signal sources are applicable, such as:

    (1) Radio reconnaissance and monitoring, interference detection, emission source tracking, and hidden emission source detection

    (2) Internet of Things

    (3) Private network communication engineering

    (4) Radar, satellite earth station, measurement and control station

    (5) Industrial microwave engineering

The signal source can output a large signal and has an adjustable range of 90dB. After connecting an external 50dB attenuator, it can form a simple comprehensive tester.

Resolution bandwidth

The allowable range of resolution bandwidth is related to the spectrum width (SPAN).

When SPAN < 4.2kHz, the minimum resolution bandwidth is 1Hz; when SPAN > 4.3MHz, the minimum resolution bandwidth is 4.476kHz. When SPAN is between 4.2kHz and 4.3MHz, the minimum resolution bandwidth gradually increases from 1Hz to 1.119kHz.
When SPAN > 4.3MHz, the effective maximum resolution bandwidth is 2.048MHz, and the maximum operable resolution bandwidth is 8MHz. When SPAN ≤ 4.3MHz, the maximum resolution bandwidth will decrease discretely as SPAN becomes narrower, until SPAN = 1kHz, RBWmax = 976Hz.
Within the range between the maximum and minimum, the resolution bandwidth is continuously adjustable.

Real-time bandwidth

15MHz.

Using USB3.0 to output IQ data, the maximum real-time bandwidth is about 38MHz and the sampling rate is 40M.
